Year 11

Year 11

This week, Year 11 have continued to focus on preparing for their upcoming Yearly Examinations, which begin on Monday 24 August. A draft timetable was released last week to students through Canvas. Based on feedback from the Exam Ready Survey, Marianna Carlino presented to Year 11 on practical study techniques and systems to support effective exam preparation. Students were introduced to the Year 11 Study Smarter Digital Tool Kit, which highlighted some key strategies: planning study time in Outlook, breaking large tasks into manageable steps using Microsoft To Do, keeping organised notes in Word, using Quizlet flashcards for active recall, and using Copilot to explain concepts and generate practice questions. Students were encouraged to start small, build consistent study habits, and focus on regular revision rather than last-minute cramming.

On Tuesday, David Posker-Hill (Acting Director of Studies Year 11 and Year 12) presented important information regarding the Year 11 Examination Block, available below, including attendance requirements, approved equipment, exam conduct, academic integrity, and illness/misadventure procedures. We encourage you to read through this information carefully with your daughter to ensure she is familiar with the expectations and regulations before examinations begin.

Year 11 Exam Rules and Regulations

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact David Posker-Hill or me. As we move towards the examination block, we hope to equip your daughter with the tools, strategies and confidence to do her best. Most importantly, we want to encourage all Year 11 students to maintain perspective and recognise that examinations are just one opportunity to demonstrate what they know and can do.
