Netball

Congratulations to our MLC School Senior Firsts Netball team for winning their first S01 game of the season, against Pymble Firsts Team on Saturday! The girls put up a strong fight with a nail-biting score, 27 to 26 to win the game. This is a huge achievement for MLC School Netball to be playing in Division 1 and playing competitive netball, we are super excited to see what’s in store for the remainder of the term.

Water Polo

MLC School held another fantastic Friday Night Water Polo round of games last week. Congratulations to our MLC01 Water Polo Team who drew their game against Ascham, another very close and exciting game – well done girls for a strong performance.

Our Junior School teams; Sharks and Stingers also had amazing game, with all players taking part in scoring! The students are learning and developing their skills in the pool, it has been amazing to see the girls enjoying the sport!

Basketball

MLC Basketball had a fantastic week on the court, with four of our seven teams recording victories. MLC04 continued their outstanding form, remaining undefeated after three rounds and showcasing great teamwork and determination.

The Senior Firsts also put in a terrific performance, displaying fantastic teamwork and skill to secure their second win of the season. Despite having only one player on the bench, the team showed great resilience and worked hard for each other throughout the game.

A special shout out and thank you to Zara Pandher from the Year 7 Firsts team, who stepped up to assist the Senior Seconds when they were short on numbers. Your willingness to help and represent the school across teams was greatly appreciated.

Well done to all teams on another strong week of basketball and good luck for this weekend!

Badminton 

Badminton continues to grow at MLC School, with our MLC04 Junior team proving to be one of our standout teams this year. Year 8 students Meghan Jiang, Kayla Leung, Emily Tu and Lavinia Xu have continued to turn heads with their impressive athleticism, developing skills and fantastic team cohesion.

The girls have demonstrated great commitment and enthusiasm throughout the season, and it has been exciting to watch their confidence and teamwork develop.

We look forward to seeing what this talented young team can achieve as they continue their badminton journey at MLC School. Well done, girls! 

Thank you to all the students who stepped up and helped cover for teammates who were away on camp last week. Your flexibility and willingness to support the Badminton program is greatly appreciated and helps ensure everyone has the opportunity to compete.

A reminder to all students and families: if you are injured, unwell, or unable to attend a competition for any reason, please notify us via email as soon as possible. Early communication helps us organise teams and ensure adequate player numbers each week.

Congratulations to Eshani Dilipumakanth (Year 7) from MLC10, who played some outstanding badminton last Friday. Eshani demonstrated great skill and teamwork in both her singles and doubles matches and should be very proud of her performance. Well done!

 

Chelsea Experience – An Unforgettable Experience for MLC School Footballers

What an incredible week for our MLC School Footballers!

MLC School students were given the amazing opportunity to experience Chelsea FC Women up close, attending an open training session Tuesday night before watching the Chelsea stars take on the A-League Women All Stars Wednesday night at Allianz Stadium Moore Park.

Thanks to the generosity of Ellie Carpenter and the Chelsea FC Women management team, our students were given incredible access to some of the world’s leading female footballers. From watching the team train to meeting the players and experiencing the excitement of match day, it was a fantastic opportunity for our young footballers to see what is possible at the highest level of the game.

A special thank you to Ellie, and the entire Chelsea FC Women squad for making our MLC School Footballers feel so welcome and creating memories they will not forget.

Opportunities like this are incredibly valuable for our students, providing inspiration and allowing them to connect with athletes who are performing at the very highest level of women’s football.

We are incredibly grateful to Ellie and the Chelsea FC management team for making this experience possible for our students.

Diving

MLC School Diving Club Shines at Diving NSW 1st Interclub

On Sunday 9 August 2026, MLC School Diving Club athletes competed at the Diving NSW 1st Interclub, held at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.

The competition marked an exciting milestone for the club, which was officially established in early June this year. Six MLC School divers competed across four events, delivering an outstanding set of results with four first-place finishes, as well as a clean sweep of first, second and third place in one event.

The individual results were:

  • Camilla Hutchison (Year 2) – 1st, Pathways Girls Level 3
  • Grace Luo (Year 4) – 1st, Pathways Girls Level 4
  • Charlotte Auty (Year 8) – 2nd, Pathways Girls Level 4
  • Georgia Chiang (Year 8) – 3rd, Pathways Girls Level 4
  • Imogen Halkon (Year 7) – 1st, Pathways Girls Level 5
  • Ada Savage (Year 10) – 1st, 16/18 Girls Platform

For a club that has been operating for only a little over two months, the results are a very encouraging start and reflect the hard work and commitment shown by the athletes in training.

Since its establishment in early June, MLC School Diving Club has grown quickly, with more than 40 registered club members. Together with students participating in MLC Co-Curricular Diving programs and other athletes training with the program, more than 60 divers are now involved across the wider MLC diving pathway.

This growth would not have been possible without the strong support of MLC School, as well as the trust and encouragement of our athletes, families and wider community.

The club looks forward to continuing to build its diving program and providing more opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills, gain competition experience and enjoy the sport of diving.

Following the success of the 1st Interclub, MLC School Diving Club is now looking ahead to the next Diving NSW competition in September and hopes to see even more athletes representing the club.
