Year 8

Congratulations on finishing Term 3! It was such a big term, with lots to celebrate. The Year 8 students were involved in NAIDOC Week, Year 8 Immersion trip, Bullying No Way Week, Book Week, STEM Week and the House Athletics Carnival just to mention a few!

Amongst that Year 8 navigated assessment tasks and learning with a mostly positive attitude. They are deserving of a fantastic and relaxing break, as are you, the families who have supported them throughout.

This week in our Year Meeting I reminded Year 8 of the uniform expectations. Over the break, please ensure that your child has the hem dropped on her Summer dress (most of the students have grown since Term 1) and that their shoes are polished or replaced if they are falling apart.

It was also the Year 8 students’ final week with their Big Sisters. It’s been heartwarming to see the strong bonds many of these pairs have made, and how much Year 8 have truly valued the friendship, guidance and support of their buddies. There have been some tears shed, but some beautiful friendships forged.

I wish you all a safe and relaxing holiday break, and I am looking forward to Term 4!
