Year 11

It is hard to believe we have reached the end of Term 3. Year 11 have had an excellent term, and I have really enjoyed watching students continue to grow into their roles as leaders of the Senior School. It has been wonderful to see them strengthen their relationships with one another and with younger students, while also settling confidently into their senior studies.

We ended the term by celebrating the following students on the achievement of their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Congratulations to:

Orianna Ellis, Gigi Guan, Sanaya Nair, Niamh Johnson, Lottie Cleland, Chelsea Chen, Joanne Chen, Sophia Hu, Yerina Kang, Jodhi Bou, Gurnaaz Kahlon and Lindsay Zeng.

Completing the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award while balancing the academic and co-curricular demands of Year 11 is a fantastic achievement. Well done to all these students, they should be very proud of their dedication and perseverance.

We also have a number of students representing MLC School on Technological and Applied Studies (TAS), History, and Dance, Drama and Entertainment (DDE) tours around the world during the holidays. We wish them safe travels and a wonderful experience. I look forward to hearing their stories and highlights when they return.

A gentle reminder for parents and carers to support their daughters in returning next term in the correct Summer uniform and meeting MLC School’s expectations regarding hair, nails, eyelashes and jewellery in line with the School Uniform Code. Your support in this area is greatly appreciated.

I would like to wish all Year 11 students and their families a restful and enjoyable holiday. I encourage students to take the opportunity to recharge and enjoy some well earned downtime before we begin Year 12 coursework in Term 4.

As always, thank you for your continued support throughout the term. We value the partnership between home and school and appreciate working together to help each student achieve her best. I hope you have a wonderful break, and I look forward to welcoming Year 11 back for an exciting Term 4.
