Mathematics Enrichment
It has been an outstanding term for Mathematics, with students across the School excelling in a range of external competitions and enrichment programs.
UNSW School of Mathematics Competition
Congratulations to Sissi Zheng (Year 8) and Yolanda Deng (Year 10), who each received a Credit in the UNSW School of Mathematics Competition. Both students were recognised for their achievement in this challenging competition at the presentation last Friday.
Mathematical Problem Solving Correspondence Program
Jocelyn Su (Year 11) has been thriving in the University of Sydney’s Mathematical Problem Solving Correspondence Program, continuing to build on her strong problem-solving skills throughout the term. This is the third stage of the program that Jocelyn has engaged with, working with a university mentor as she explores further applications of mathematics.
Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC)

Maths Challenge
This week students were also celebrated for their achievements in Maths Challenge, a four week problem solving program that students can complete independently or in pairs. Congratulations also to our Distinction and High Distinction recipients:

Australian Mathematical Olympiad
A special mention to Yolanda Deng (Year 10) who received a Bronze Award in the Australian Mathematical Olympiad Winter competition and has been invited to attend the Mathematical School of Excellence in November – a fantastic achievement recognising her ongoing dedication to mathematics.
This term has also seen the conclusion of the Australasian Problem Solving Mathematical Olympiad (APSMO), in which we were represented by a team of Year 7 and Year 8 students. Along with the ICAS Mathematics competition, these results will be available next term we look forward to sharing them with the community then.
Congratulations to all students who took part in a Mathematics competition this term; whether they were challenging themselves for the first time or continuing to engage with the many opportunities that are available, it has been very pleasing to see students enthusiastic about Mathematics.
