This week we farewelled the graduating Year 12 Class of 2026. Our very excited Kindergarten girls sang ‘So Long, Farewell’ to our Year 12 graduates at their Final Assembly. Another touching moment occurred when the senior girls who have attended MLC School since Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten visited the Junior School to play games with the girls. In turn, the Year 12 ‘Lifers’ received farewell cards from our youngest students, who had created portraits of the ‘big girls’! We wish our Year 12 students the very best as they prepare for their final exams. 

Kindergarten and Year 1 Adventure Camp

Kindergarten experienced their first Outdoor Adventure Camp at Queen’s Park in Concord, while Year 1 explored the great outdoors at Lane Cove National Park. Both the girls and their teachers looked a little tired by the end of camp – a sure sign of an adventurous day!

Year 3 Adventure Camp – Parent Information Webinar

An information session for parents will be held online on Wednesday 14 October 2026 at 6pm. The link to join will be sent to Year 3 parents and carers at 9am on the morning of the webinar.

Year 6 Showcase

Tuesday evening was a significant and successful occasion for Year 6 as the girls hosted their annual Showcase. The evening provided each girl with the opportunity to display her skills in her chosen area of research and share her achievements across other subjects. The students selected an environmental area to research, inspired by the new Sydney Science Park being built adjacent to the newly opened Western Sydney Airport. Year 6 students have been working with industry partners as part of this exciting and unique project.

It was wonderful to see our Year 6 parents engaging with the girls and interviewing them about their areas of study. Visitors who also work with other Sydney Science Park partner schools noted that the standard of our Year 6 students’ work exceeded that of secondary students from other schools. This partnership reminds us of the importance of an all-girls education, providing opportunities for our young women to thrive in STEM domains that boys can often dominate in co-educational environments. Outstanding STEM Award for Year 6

A team of Year 6 students participated in a VEX IQ competition this week and were proudly awarded one of the most prestigious awards of the day, The Design Award! A special mention too for the Senior School team who won the Excellence Award.

The Design Award is given in recognition of a team that has a strong engineering notebook that clearly displays the team’s enginerring design process throughout the season, evidence of student understanding, teamwork, and attitude. Stay & Play

As our newsletter reaches your inbox, Kindergarten to Year 5 will be participating in Stay & Play, an event held each year on the last day of Term 3. Our Junior School Student Council (JSSC) hosts a fun afternoon of activities and sells items to raise money for the JSSC to purchase items for the School. Thank you also to our Year 5 parents, who provided the cake stall and supported the running of the stalls.

I will write to you again prior to the commencement of the final school term. I look forward to seeing all the girls return in full summer uniform on Tuesday 13 October 2026, ready for a fulfilling Term 4.
