It was the Final Countdown! 

What a remarkable final week of school it has been for the Class (no, Chorus) of 2026. Across all the beautiful, meaningful occasions, our Year 12 students have been celebrated, thanked and farewelled with warmth by the whole MLC School community. From the Celebration Assembly and final Communion Service, to the joyful return of our ‘Lifers’ to the Junior School, where they read, played games and spent time on the equipment with our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students, the week has been full of moments that honoured both who our students are now and the journey that has brought them to this point.

The Final Assembly on the Bird Bath Quad, House Lunches in the Daphne Line Hall, the Paver Ceremony, the Valedictory Assembly and Valedictory Dinner provided beautiful opportunities to reflect on the generosity, humour and spirit of this cohort. It was wonderful to see students surrounded by family, staff and friends as they celebrated friendships, memories and the many contributions they have made to school life. 

We all congratulate Year 12 on reaching this important milestone with such positivity and gratitude, and we thank our families and staff for the care and support that has carried them through. As their academic year ends, I want to wish the Class of 2026 a restful break and every success as they prepare for the examinations.
