IPSHA Debating Season Ends with Gala Day

Our 20 primary debating students have completed two terms of dedicated training and competition, taking part in all seven rounds of the IPSHA debating competition.

Our two Year 5 teams began the season with great enthusiasm as they learned the skills and strategies of effective debating. They have made excellent progress and, hopefully, feel ready to continue developing their skills next year as Year 6 students. Congratulations to:

Our two Year 6 teams have been training and debating since the beginning of the year. Most of these students also competed in the ISDA competition during Term 1 and Term 2. They achieved considerable success and continued to excel in the IPSHA competition during Term 2 and Term 3. Congratulations to:

All this hard work culminated in a debating gala day at PLC last Thursday. Each team had to prepare cases for two debates within a short period. Their ability to take on this challenge calmly demonstrated how much they have progressed throughout the year.

Thank you to our coaches, teachers and parents, who all contributed to the success of our teams. This was our final year competing in the IPSHA debating competition. Next year, we hope to participate in different primary debating activities for Year 5 and Year 6, helping students develop their debating skills and confidence.
