Year 2 students shine at Dom’s Day Mass
Last Friday, our Year 2 students proudly participated in the annual Dom’s Day Mass, joining the school community in celebrating the life and legacy of St Dominic.
A special highlight of the Mass was the students’ presentation of One Family by John Burland. Through both singing and signing, the children shared the song’s beautiful message of unity, inclusion and belonging. As part of their performance, students had the honour of walking on Dom’s Plot, making the experience even more meaningful and allowing them to play a special role in the celebration. They approached this responsibility with confidence, reverence and joy, demonstrating the spirit of togetherness that the song so beautifully reflects.
The students’ enthusiastic singing and expressive signing captivated the congregation and helped bring the lyrics to life. Their performance reminded everyone that we are all members of one family, united in faith and friendship.
We congratulate our Year 2 students on their wonderful participation in this important school event. Their respectful behaviour, commitment and joyful spirit were a credit to themselves, their families and our school community. We are incredibly proud of the way they contributed to making this year’s Dom’s Day celebrations so memorable.
A big thank you to Mrs Knight for her dedication and hard work in preparing the students for this special occasion. Her guidance, encouragement and support enabled the children to perform with confidence and enthusiasm, making their contribution to the Mass both meaningful and memorable. We are grateful for the time and care she invested in helping the students shine.
