Music at Del Monte and MBH (Curriculum)
Students at Del Monte have rehearsed beautifully for Dom’s Day, practicing their singing and actions for the One Family song, to welcome everyone to the Mass. They are also preparing for Grandparents Day.
Siena and Laudare Singers have started their Term 3 rehearsals with lots of fun warm-ups and rounds, emphasising the joy of singing together as well as encouraging listening to one another as they sing. We will soon start working towards our second semester performances.
In class, students are exploring a variety of notation – graphic, solfa tone ladder and traditional notation, in ways appropriate to their development. They are transferring their knowledge to tuned percussion. Frequently, movement will be used to explore what the music is doing, and then into creative segments.
