Tales from the Italian Peninsula!
Italian at Del Monte
During the recent school holidays, several lucky students packed their bags and journeyed to Italy. Over the last week, these student travellers took centre stage in their Italian language classes. They captivated their peers by sharing first-hand stories of exploring ancient ruins, ordering authentic food, participating in Italian cooking classes and navigating historic streets. Alongside their wonderful stories, students shared some photos and the Italian classroom was filled with smiles as peers viewed snapshots of landmarks such as the historic Colosseum in Rome, the beautiful canals of Venice and the stunning Amalfi coast. And one of the highlights was the visit to the Basilica of Santa Sabina in Rome!
This unique storytelling experience has deeply enriched our language program and has allowed everyone to experience the rich culture, art and architecture of Italy without leaving school grounds. Seeing the practical use of the Italian language in real life has greatly motivated our current students to practise their speaking and listening skills.
We extend a warm grazie to our student travellers and their families for sharing their journeys and inspiring their friends. We cannot wait to see where their language skills take them next!
