Year 7
It was lovely to see all the girls back at school this week and to see how happy they looked, despite readjusting to routines and early mornings. I am always so impressed by how my Little Year 7s face every challenge. I would also like to praise my Year 7s for their punctuality during school events; they are definitely role models for many other year groups. Well done, girls!
This has been an important week as we celebrated NAIDOC Week. This year’s NAIDOC theme is ’50 Years of Deadly’, which recognises the generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people whose leadership, courage and cultural strength have shaped our nation. As we reflect on this significant milestone, we honour the past, celebrate the present, and commit to supporting a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, stories and achievements continue to thrive. To mark the occasion, we held a whole-school NAIDOC Week assembly on the sports fields, and the girls completed specific activities during Luminary time to deepen their understanding of the importance of NAIDOC Week.
As we start a new term, I would like to remind all the girls of the expectations around school uniform, punctuality, homework and other school routines. It is important that the girls continue to follow these expectations, as they provide structure and help us develop discipline and respect for others. Of course, I am always here to support the girls whenever they need help.
Lastly, and still importantly, Term 3 will of course bring new Ms Stolzi challenges. I encourage the girls to participate in these challenges, have fun and perhaps win some lollies along the way! Creating a happy environment is crucial to learning and to helping students feel safe at school.
Although the Colour Run took place last term, I thought it was worth including some pictures to show how much fun the Year 7 students had. It was such a wonderful and enjoyable activity!
