Opening Our Homes to the World: Host Families Needed for the 2026 Round Square International Conference

Opening Our Homes to the World: Host Families Needed for the 2026 Round Square International Conference

As members of the MLC School community, we know the value of meaningful global connections and the richness that comes from learning about different cultures and perspectives. This September, families have a special opportunity to help create those connections by welcoming an international student into their home.

Barker College will host the 2026 Round Square International Conference from Monday 28 September to Saturday 3 October, bringing together students from across the globe to explore the Round Square IDEALS of International Understanding, Democracy, Environmental Stewardship, Adventure, Leadership and Service.

As part of the conference experience, international delegates will stay with local host families for two nights (Monday 28 September – Tuesday 29 September 2026) before the conference begins. Hosting a student is a wonderful way to share Australian family life, build lasting friendships and support young people as they embark on an unforgettable international experience.

This opportunity is particularly meaningful as MLC School looks ahead to hosting our own Round Square Conference in 2027, centered on the theme of Adventure. By supporting Barker College this year, our community can play an active role in the spirit of hospitality, service and international understanding that lies at the heart of Round Square.

If your family is interested in hosting an overseas delegate for two nights, we encourage you to learn more and submit an expression of interest.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to open your home, share your family’s story and help a young person from another part of the world feel welcomed in Sydney.
