Year 2 Visit SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium
In Term 3, Year 2 will be developing their informative writing skills. To support this learning and build their content knowledge, the girls ventured to SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium at Darling Harbour on Thursday.
The excursion provided a wonderful opportunity for students to observe marine life up close and gather information that will support their writing throughout the term. The girls were captivated by the incredible variety of sea creatures, from colourful tropical fish to majestic sharks and rays, with Pig the Dugong proving to be a particular favourite.
During the day, our aquarium guides shared a wealth of fascinating facts about sharks, helping students to deepen their understanding of these remarkable animals. The girls enthusiastically recorded observations, asked thoughtful questions and discovered how sharks have adapted to survive in oceans around the world.
This hands-on learning experience has provided an excellent foundation for our first informative writing unit, where students will research, organise and present information about sharks in the form of an information report. We look forward to seeing the girls apply their new knowledge and develop their skills as confident and capable writers over the coming weeks.
