PDHPE: Skills for Life, Confidence for the Future

The Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) team is excited to welcome students back to Term 3! PDHPE continues to be one of the most popular learning areas in NSW, reflecting its growing relevance in preparing young people for healthy, active lives while supporting their wellbeing.

Physical Activity and Sports Studies (PASS) remains a popular elective in Year 9 and Year 10, offering students authentic, hands-on learning experiences that can extend beyond the classroom. This term, we wish our Year 9 PASS students every success as they embark on the exciting Alpine Safety and Ski Camp, departing on Sunday 2 August 2026. Meanwhile, our Year 10 PASS students will put their learning into action through the Coaching Fundamentals unit, developing the skills to lead and motivate younger peers.

Our Year 10 PDHPE students recently developed one of the most valuable life skills, cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). This term, they will continue their Life Beyond School unit, exploring career pathways, driver education, skills for independent living, as well as how to access and evaluate health services. In practical lessons, students will combine creativity and teamwork as they choreograph a hip hop dance routine.

A gentle reminder to please ensure students have the correct PDHPE uniform for practical lessons, including a hat and water bottle, particularly as the weather begins to warm throughout the term. We look forward to a wonderful term ahead!
