Year 7

Year 7

Another fruitful week for Year 7! We had the Parent/Teacher interviews on Monday accompanied by an information session to understand the Luminary focus on Courage this term, and to introduce the Year 7 camp to all parents and carers. I would like to thank all the families and carers for their time during this busy day.

Click here for the Year 7 Parent Information Evening Presentation. The presentation has also been added to Omnia on the Year 7 page here.

Of course, I must mention the Year 7 camp, and how quickly it is approaching. How exciting! I can feel the excitement in the air in every MLC School hall. A gentle reminder to all parents and carers to please complete the Year 7 Land’s Edge Medical, Consent and Waiver forms. These forms can be completed through the Land’s Edge Parent Portal which can be accessed here: https://www.landsedge.com.au/2026mlcyear7-studentportal.

Parents and carers must also provide permission through Omnia, the parent portal. Please note that this is on top of the Land’s Edge requirements.

We have now reached out to all families and carers of students who might benefit from additional support, and we would like to encourage you to reach out to us if your daughter needs support, especially if they have had a recent injury that we are not aware of.

Year 7 has also had their first session with their Big Sisters this week and many fun activities were organised by the Year 11 girls to entertain the lovely Year 7 students. We even had a fashion parade of dresses made with toilet paper!

I must also mention the way last week ended, with Back to College Day assembly to celebrate the 140th year anniversary of MLC School. We had a fashion parade showing the different uniforms used at MLC School in the past decades and the Year 7 students looked like professionals!

Finally, I would like to say that every week I will post a little fun challenge on the Year 7 CANVAS page. School can be hard sometimes, with many deadlines, lessons, assessments and many other things. These little fun challenges can be seen as a time to have a laugh and relieve stress. What is life without a little bit of fun after all?!
