Year 11
It has been a great week welcoming the girls back for what will be their last term as Year 11 students. For many of them, the term began on Monday with our First Sony Camp Training Day. The day was filled with enthusiasm, teamwork and plenty of fun, and I am excited to see them step into their roles and work together to make this year’s camp a great success.
This term is also an important one as we begin the selection process for our 2027 Student Leadership Team. Voting will open this Friday and remain open for one week. While this is an exciting opportunity for many students, I recognise that leadership elections can bring a mix of emotions, including both joy and disappointment. I have encouraged the girls to approach this process with kindness, respect and maturity, and to continue celebrating the achievements and successes of their peers.
Year 11 students will sit their yearly exams this term in Week 6 and Week 7. Throughout the term, we will help prepare them effectively for their exams. However, I strongly encourage that they begin their revision now. Adopting a ‘little and often’ approach to study throughout the term can reduce stress, build confidence and help students feel well prepared when examinations begin. Starting early also provides opportunities for your daughter to seek additional support from their classroom teachers if needed.
A reminder that Study Hub operates Monday to Thursday afternoons and provides a structured environment for students to complete homework, revise and prepare for assessments with the support of MLC School teachers. I encourage all Year 11 students to take advantage of this valuable resource, particularly as they begin preparing for their examinations.
I look forward to working together with you and your daughter through this exciting and significant term.
