Year 8
Welcome back to Term 3, and I’d like to give a special welcome to our 4 new Year 8 families. We are excited to have you join this fabulous cohort of students. It has been a busy start to the term and I am very pleased with the way the students engaged with the Allwell Testing on Thursday. They approached these sessions with maturity and focus, giving their best effort and supporting one another throughout the process.
As we celebrate NAIDOC Week, students have had the opportunity to reflect on and learn more about the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, which leads into our Immersion experiences in Week 3. NAIDOC week, and our special NAIDOC assembly provided an important reminder of the value of listening, learning and recognising the rich contributions First Nations peoples make to our communities.
Excitement is also building as we continue preparations for the upcoming Year 8 Immersion. Students should ensure they are checking communications and organising any required equipment and paperwork. There are 50 outstanding dietary forms. Please complete these ASAP, the link to the form was sent out on the MLC School App this week! Our Immersions are always a wonderful opportunity to challenge ourselves, build new connections and create lasting memories, and we are looking forward to sharing this experience together.

- Elective subject selection webinar (following the online parent teacher interviews)
- Cyber Safety presentation with Director of eLearning

Getaway Program Semester 2
The Getaway Space remains open in SC101 every day during lunch for students to access.
Additionally, during Semester 2, Academic Support will be offered two mornings per week.
- Tuesday: 7.30am to 8.10am
- Wednesday: 7.30am to 8.10am
Sessions will begin Tuesday 28 July and Wednesday 29 July and run for the remainder of the term. If you wish for your daughter to attend during Term 3, please contact the Learning Enhancement Department.

Changes to the Year 9 2027 Immersion Program
There have been some changes made to the Year 9 2027 Immersion Program and a letter was sent to parents earlier this week.
