Year 10

It’s been a more settled week for Year 10 after the busyness of last week with the Anzac Service and the 140th Birthdsay celebrations.
In Academic Care this week, Year 10 attended a digital skills workshop on using Canva, with Marianna Carlino, our Head of eLearning. The girls offered interesting insights and had solid previous knowledge about this great resource. Another workshop will take place later this term to refine and further develop these skills for their academic work. Chapel service on Tuesday was with Year 12 and Rev Vinnie Ravetali, the focus being on Mother’s Day and the role of important women in our lives.
Next week Year 10 will be completing a pulse survey on their Core subjects, as student voice and insight provide valuable reflections for us to develop our curriculum and reflect on student engagement. Also, next week is a special Year 10 excursion as a follow up on our study in Term 1 of the Holocaust in History. The students will attend workshops and hear from a Holocaust survivor about their story and journey. Please ensure that the permission note for your daughter has been signed via Omnia and that the girls wear full winter uniform for the day, including blazer. Details on the day have been shared through the girls’ History teachers and on Omnia. The girls will return to school for a detailed reflection and feedback session.
Congratulations to the Year 10 Mock Trial students for progressing to the next round. Well done to Melisande Pitman, Sabine Rezainia, Xanthe Johnson, Hemani Ramesh, Tehya Sivanesarajah, Darcy Costello and Elizabeth Faraj. The group is growing and we have a record number of Year 10 students participating. The next round is against Fort Street High School, and we wish everyone the best of luck.
