A Message from the 2026 Dance Captain

For those who don’t know, this year MLC School has a team for Dance For Sick kids!!! Dance for Sick kids is a seven day dance challenge (starting Week 4 – Monday 11 May 2026) where you log your dancing hours per day and your friends and family can support you by donating money. All money is donated to Ronald McDonald House, GWS (located on the grounds of the Sydney Children’s hospital Westmead) to help seriously ill children and their families.

We are so proud of our MLC School team who have already raised $4,393 which provides the families at Ronald McDonald house with 27 nights of accommodation, 231 hot meals from the family kitchen and 219 School lessons for the sick children staying at the house. We are so incredibly grateful for all the support so far and if you haven’t had the chance to donate here is the link to the team page where you can make donations to individual dancers or to the entire team. Every dollar counts!

Throughout next week, there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved, have fun and support a great cause. On Monday 11 May 2026, MLC School will kick things off with a Dance Bake Sale at lunchtime on the Bird Bath Quad. To celebrate the start and end of the week, there will also be Lunchtime Dance Parties on the Bird Bath Quad on both Monday and Friday where everyone is welcome to join in. Then on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday lunchtimes Dance Classes will be held in the Basement Dance Studios, giving everyone a chance to participate and get in your daily dance steps to log on the website.

We are immensely proud of everyone who has taken on this dance challenge and contributed to the success of such a meaningful cause and we can’t wait to see what difference the MLC School community can make in the coming week. See you all on the dance floor.
