Tallong Campus

My first experience with Tallong Campus was as a group leader in November 2005. After working at numerous Outdoor Education Centres prior to this, I still remember vividly the feeling of amazement when I arrived for that first program. Tallong campus was in the bush. The bush was not over the fence or over the horizon but right here.

Now just a couple of years down the track, it is both a pleasure and a privilege to take on the role of Manager, Tallong Campus. Since commencing the natural environment of Tallong has lived up to my memories. I have seen rock wallabies, an echidna, a koala (surprisingly) and birdlife in abundance. The highlight has been an unusually curious kookaburra that flies in to say ‘G’day’ most mornings. What a special place to be and work!

Over the coming month we have a busy schedule. Tallong will play host to Newington College, Oxley College, Mount Carmel College and St Paul’s International College. On top of this, we have an action-packed Santa Sabina calendar with the Senior Leaders Retreat, Year 3 Camp, Parent/Child weekend and, most excitingly, the inaugural St Dominic the Adventurer Awards weekend.

To Kendall and his family embarking on their year-long trip around Australia, we wish you an experience that is full of connection. Connection for your family, to the people you meet along your journey and to the amazing natural environments you will experience. May you Shake the World in your own special way over the next 12 months.

Last but very much not least I would like to welcome Alyssa Pearse to the Tallong team. We thank all the team at the College and here at Tallong Campus who have provided us both with such a warm welcome.
