Author visit

We are privileged to have the talented actress, writer, podcaster Angourie Rice and her mother, scriptwriter, Kate Rice come to Santa Sabina College on Tuesday 14 November at 9:20am to talk about their upcoming novel, Stuck Up and Stupid, inspired by the romantic and satirical works of Jane Austen.

Angourie is known for her work in Mare of Eastown, Spider Man, Jasper Jones and The Last Thing He Told Me. She has starred opposite Kate Winslet, Jennifer Garner and Zendaya. Kate Rice is an award-winner playwright with a PhD in the ethical creative process.

Very few novels have been written by a mother and daughter, and after the success of our Year 8 OpenBook program, what better way to end the year, but to hear how a mother and daughter managed to write a debut novel together.

We would like to extend an invitation to all parents to come along. RSVP by 1 November via the Trybooking link (for catering purposes). Copies of the book will be available for sale and pre-order, costing $22.99 a copy. Further details to follow but please indicate interest when you book.

Students from surrounding schools such as Meriden and MLC will be invited as part of our library’s initiative to create a reading and writing cultural hub at Santa Sabina College.
