Dance 2024 Representative Program Expressions of Interest Form

The Santa Sabina College Representative Dance program is a fantastic program where students compete regularly in national dance eisteddfods against other schools throughout the year.

The program aims to deliver an elite level of Dance taught by our highly experienced Dance coaches in a fun and engaging environment for the students to thrive in which enhances their skills in teamwork, dance and overall wellbeing. This program requires a high level of commitment also from both dancers and families between Terms 1-3, when the program operates. It is essential that students in Years 5-12 have a high level of Dance training and are also undertaking Dance lessons externally.

This program is open to all students in Years 1-12 in 2024. Auditions will ONLY be held for students from Years 3-12 (NO AUDITION FOR YEARS 1-2 2024). Students who participate in the program will have compulsory weekly training sessions, two to three weekend and Sunday intensive trainings and five to six compulsory Dance eisteddfod performances throughout Terms 1-3.

Please note that this is a full-year commitment. Attendance at the representative Dance audition/trial is compulsory for any student in Years 3-12 wishing to be part of the program.

Net, Set, Go – learn to play Netball

We will be holding introduction to netball clinics at lunchtime during weeks 4,5 and 6 at Del Monte.  These clinics are designed for all students from Kindergarten to Year 4. Keep an eye out for flyers at Del Monte with further information regarding days.

Public Speaking

On Saturday 21 October, 16 Santa Sabina College students from Years 7-11 represented the College at the IGSA Festival of Speech.

Our students competed in sections including Religious and Ethical questions, Current Affairs, Readings Junior and Senior, Poetry Junior and Senior, Public Speaking Junior and Senior. This year the ‘Soap Box’ was introduced so our students could choose a topic and create a ‘rant’ about it.

After a full day of beautiful speeches and expression, competing against 27 other schools who are part of IGSA, Santa came in 13th overall.

I would like to direct a special thank you to Ms Jane Sulis for all her passion and energy dedicated to coaching our girls in debating and Public Speaking and our parents community for all the help and support along the process.

Congratulations to these students:
