eSafety during this time of world conflict and turmoil

As we watch the unfolding despair and violence in Israel and the Gaza strip as parents and as educators our concern naturally goes to those on the front line of such conflicts. However, in this age of constant news feeds and citizen reporting it is important for us all to consider the sSafety of our children at this time.

We were recently contacted by the eSafety Commissioner who informed the College that they have contacted social media companies about distressing content that is circulating regarding events happening overseas. They will continue working with these companies to identify and remove illegal and restricted material wherever possible. They have created a website and factsheet that can assist families in navigating distressing online content if it has impacted your child in any way. We encourage families to make themselves aware of the procedures for reporting disturbing content and for strategies to support children who may be distressed by any online content they have seen.

Student Leadership Retreat

On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 October our newly elected senior student leaders will head to Tallong for their Leadership Retreat. Here they will partake in sessions on leadership and teamwork led by Ms Skerman and Sr Sheila Flynn OP, put their teamwork skills into practice with outdoor challenge activities led by Ms Whiley, as well planning for the year ahead with Ms Kempers and learning about how to promote our school in an effective manner guided by Ms Graniero. This vital input plus the peace and serenity of Tallong and Geoff’s great food will ensure that our leaders return ready to launch into their leadership year. A huge thank you to Mr Ayoub who will make sure all our students arrive safely on the school bus.
