Music at Gioia House (Curricular)

Gioia House Instrumental

Our Gioia House musicians are buzzing with energy as they prepare for a wonderful season of performances.

Year 5 and 6 Mini Maestros are deep in rehearsal for their Fra Angelico items.

  • Year 5 Mini Maestros are polishing selected works from Essential Elements, with a strong focus on ensemble skills, teamwork, and confident group performance.
  • Year 6 Mini Maestros are preparing pieces from Essential Elements alongside A Shaker Hymn, developing blend, balance, and musical independence.

Our Gioia House Strings are also working towards two exciting events. Year 5 and 6 students are preparing for their combined Breakfast Concert with Sinfonietta on Monday 14 September, where they will join forces to form an orchestra of almost 200 performers. They will present Festival Fanfare by Kathryn Griesinger — a joyful, energetic work that showcases their growing confidence and ensemble cohesion.

Gioia House Choral

The Gioia House Choir is singing beautifully as they prepare for several upcoming performances.

They are currently rehearsing for the Father’s Day Mass on 3 September, shaping warm tone, unified vowel sounds, and expressive phrasing. Alongside this, they are preparing their Fra Angelico repertoire: Lakeside Lullaby and I Found Something I Was Searching For by Pink Zebra. Students have been working thoughtfully on tone production, breath support, and clear diction to bring these pieces to life.

Their commitment, teamwork, and joy in music-making continue to shine each week.
