Museum of Human Disease Competition — congratulations to our finalists

In celebration of National Science Week 2026, themed ‘Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All,’ the Museum of Human Disease partnered with DonateLife NSW to invite high schools across the state to take part in a competition raising awareness and understanding of organ and tissue donation. Students were challenged to create either a short video or a six-tile social media story campaign on the topic.

We are proud to share that two groups from Santa Sabina College were selected as finalists among approximately 300 submissions from 50 schools across NSW. Our students achieved second place in both the Year 7–8 and Year 12 divisions, with judges praising their entries as thoughtful and professionally executed.

Congratulations to Emily and Charlotte (Year 8) and Shardai (Year 12) on this outstanding achievement.

As finalists, the girls spent the morning of Thursday 20 August in the Museum with students from other schools learning more about organ and tissue donation, including hearing first-hand from two bone marrow recipients about the impact donation has had on their lives. They also took part in a blood typing experiment and explored the Museum’s exhibits.

We congratulate the girls and commend them on this wonderful achievement, representing our school with distinction.
