At MBH the 2026 Book Week theme ‘Symphony of Stories’ that recognises the many ways they inspire, entertain and bring people together was promoted through picture books that feature music. Playroom teachers read these stories to the children and used them to inspire them to design and create their own magical, musical hat. On two separate days duyring Book Week, the stories were read to the children, they wore their hats and they ate cake that they made to celebrate the occasions.

Book Week is a wonderful opportunity to spark an interest in stories, and the motivation to read.

In Cradle Mountain, our infants and toddlers read Where is the Green Sheep? by Mem Fox.

In Lilly Pilly Gully our two to three-year-old children read The Very Noisy Bear by Nick Bland.

In Daintree Rainforest our pre-schoolers read Bertie and the Bear by Pamela Allen.
