What’s happening in Year 6

 Final IPSHA Debate

 Our final debate of the season was a wonderful celebration of our students’ hard work and growth. Throughout the year, students developed their public speaking, critical thinking and teamwork skills through training sessions and competitive debates. They worked collaboratively, supported one another and approached each challenge with enthusiasm and determination. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the confidence they have gained along the way. Congratulations to all students on a successful debating season and for representing our school so positively.

Space: what’s out there?

Year 6 is currently investigating the vastness of space by identifying key astronomical features such as stars, galaxies, nebulae and black holes. They have conducted research on technologies that have allowed humans to study and explore space (e.g. telescopes, probes and satellites) and investigated how these advancements have expanded our knowledge and improved life on Earth. 

In a recent Lab session, the girls constructed their own rockets in preparation for launching. They used a high pressure bicycle hand pump to create enough air pressure to fuel the launch, before launching the rockets into SPACE (the air)!
