Celebrating First Holy Communion

On Saturday 12 September 2026, several of our Year 3 students joined other young members of the parish community at St Joseph’s Maronite Catholic Church, Croydon, to celebrate the special sacrament of First Holy Communion.

During this sacred celebration, children received the Eucharist for the first time, marking an important milestone in their faith journey. Surrounded by their families, parish community and friends, the candidates participated reverently in the liturgy as they received Holy Communion and deepened their relationship with Jesus.

First Holy Communion is a significant step in the sacramental life of the Church. Through prayer, preparation and support from their families and teachers, the children have grown in their understanding of God’s love and the gift of the Eucharist.

As a school community, we congratulate our Year 3 students on this special occasion and thank their families, catechists and the parish of St Joseph’s Maronite Catholic Church for supporting them in their faith formation. We pray that they continue to grow in faith, hope and love as active members of the Church community.

Next week, a number of our Year 3 students from St Martha’s Parish will celebrate their First Holy Communion. We keep these children and their families in our prayers as they prepare to receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time. May this special occasion be a source of joy, faith, and blessing for them and their loved ones.
