Archbishop’s Award for Student Excellence

Congratulations to Celina Nguyen who has received a 2026 Archbishop’s Award for Student Excellence. Celina’s inspirational contributions to her parish, College and the wider community include leadership in liturgical celebrations and church initiatives, performing in our Symphony Orchestra, outreach participation and active membership of College Action Teams.

Citation

Celina Nguyen demonstrates faith-filled participation in the life of her parish, school and wider community. A member of St Felix de Valois Catholic Parish, Bankstown, she has served as an altar server for eight years and regularly assists as a reader at Mass. She is a violinist in her parish Eucharistic Youth Choir and contributes to youth group initiatives, including planning community events and participating in the Mary MacKillop Teens’ Group and Antioch retreats.

At Santa Sabina College, Celina is involved in the orchestra and performs at liturgical celebrations as a creative expression of her faith. Since Year 7, she has served as a Spirituality Day Leader at the College and has been a member of the Student Voice Action Team, Social Justice Action Team and the Principal’s Advisory Board.  Celina also participates in Night Patrol and volunteers for Catholic Care, where she prepares and distributes food and engages with vulnerable members of the community. She authentically lives her life steeped in Gospel values and joyfully bears witness to God’s love through her actions and words. She is a commendable leader and an inspiration in both her school and parish community.
