AFL Paul Kelly Cup

Last Wednesday, 16 girls took to the field for the Paul Kelly Cup, the largest Primary Schools Competition in NSW and ACT. With a largely new team playing the game for the first time, it was fantastic to see the progress made throughout the day.

The Year 5/6 played five games throughout the day, winning one and losing four. It was a great experience, providing extra preparation for IPSHA AFL next term.

With such a fun day had by all, the girls are already gearing up, ready for next year!

Saturday Sports

Well done to all of our teams across Year 3 Netball, IPSHA Netball and IPSHA Minkey/Hockey for an amazing term.

Thanks to all the coaches and sports staff for their ongoing hard work and dedication to helping girls improve their skills and enjoy themselves at all weekly sessions and Saturday games in Term 2.

Term 3 Saturday Sports Trials

Thanks to all the girls involved in Tuesday’s trials for IPSHA AFL, Touch Football, and Year 3 Minkey Hockey. It was beautiful to see such excellent attendance in the afternoon. A big thanks to our coaches and PE staff for the afternoon.

A reminder that there is a final training session for Term 3 sports on Tuesday 18 July (the last day of the school holidays). This training session is open for those who can make the session. Selections will not be affected due to not attending this day.

In preparation for Term 3 Sports, please remember that while some selections may not always be the desired outcome, parents should challenge their daughters to work hard and develop skills throughout the year, regardless of whether they agree with the team selection. Encouraging a positive attitude and a focus on improvement can lead to a successful and enjoyable sports experience for all involved.

As always, please contact Tom Mitton if you have any questions regarding team selections.

Holiday Tennis Clinic

SCEGGS Exclusive Tennis Coaches, Justin and Vince, are hosting a SCEGGS JUNIOR SCHOOL ONLY tennis program this upcoming school holidays.

Note that this tennis program is also on the same day as IPSHA AFL, Touch Football and Minkey training sessions. Any students wishing to attend both in the day will be given the opportunity. Girls can be walked from the trials to the tennis courts if arranged beforehand with Tom Mitton. Alternatively, parents can collect from the training session and dropped at the tennis courts afterwards.

All standards are welcome and programmed for; Beginners, Intermediate and Frequent Players.

Justin and Vince are the long-time and current SCEGGS Tildesely Tennis Team coaches, PE tennis classes for SCEGGS junior school.

Student achievements: NSW Cross Country Championships

Congratulations to Beatrice Emanuel, who competed at the NSW Cross Country Championships at Tapitallee Cross Country Course on Saturday. She finished 2nd in her age group on a challenging course. A fantastic achievement Beatrice!

Primary Sport Achievements

Does your daughter compete in any sport outside of school (for example, at a representative level or a sport we do not currently offer)? If so, we would love to celebrate their achievements by recognising them in this newsletter!

Please email Tom Mitton any information (and photos, if possible) These will be included in newsletters throughout the year.

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday break. We look forward to doing it all again next term!
