Year 9 History Incursion

Last week, Year 9 got to experience a captivating performance from Mr Glenn Phillips, of Troubie. Glenn took the students back to a post-World War I Australian hospital. The performance gave students an opportunity to understand the horrors of the Great War and the mental and physical effect it had on Australian troops. Throughout the performance, students saw representations of ‘Shell Shock’ (what we now call Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), as well as a strong focus on the role Australian women played in the War. The passionate performance allowed students to sympathise with history and unpack a section of our past that is seldom explored.
