Advent is a time of waiting. As Christians we are waiting to celebrate the great joy and life that is the birth of the child Jesus at Christmas. Throughout the year we have faced the challenges of flood and fire, lived with the continued threats to our health and watched the impact of war and violence  in our world.

During these times, we reached to others. We were present with and for them. We generously helped in whatever ways we could.

The story of the birth of the child Jesus is one of the extraordinary gift of being present. God becomes one with us. “For God so loved the world that he dwelt ang us.” John 3:16

As we continue our journey through Advent and the last weeks of the school year, let us continue to be present for each other through our actions and words.
