NSW VET Regional Hospitality World Skills Competition

On Wednesday 23 November, Claudia Walker participated in the NSW VETIS Regional Hospitality Commercial Cookery Competition. Claudia had 3 hours to prepare a Savoury and Sweet Afternoon Tea, with four (4) portions for each course.

Throughout the 3 hours Claudia was assessed on the following:

  • Work organisation and management skills

  • Personal presentation and personal hygiene

  • WorkStation Hygiene and Cleaning, food storage and wastage 

  • Food preparation skills- Technique and process

  • Appropriate cookery skills and methods

  • Presentation and Tasting 

Claudia came away with the Gold Medal for the Sydney Zone WorldSkills Competition.  Gold medalists will be invited to join the NSW WorldSkills VETiS Team to compete at the National Competition in Melbourne during National Skills Week 2023.
