Toasty Tuesday

Toasty Tuesday

Toasty Tuesday is back next Tuesday on August 16 – the day after the mid-term break. We have been celebrating this day since 2019 and it is a time where we see how much energy we can save at school by turning off our heating and any unnecessary lighting as well as reducing our contribution to greenhouse gasses in the environment. Our best statistic so far is a 25% reduction in energy use. Let’s see if we can better this in 2022!

What happens on Toasty Tuesday?

  • Staff and students need to come to school in their warmest clothes. This is a mufti day where we are trying to be environmentally friendly by reducing the heating in the School.
  • The bike powered smoothies are back for Years 3 – 12. Warm yourself up by generating the energy to make you own strawberry or mango smoothie on our special bikes. These will cost $4.00. Secondary girls can pay by Eftpos or cash. Primary school girls (Year 3 – 6) can order their smoothies through Flexischools.
  • Toasted sandwiches (cheese, ham and cheese and tomato and cheese) will be available for $4.00. These can be ordered by the whole school on Flexischools.

So, get out your warm clothing and enjoy Toasty Tuesday on August 16. You may even want to challenge yourself to see how much energy you can save by creating your own Toasty Tuesday at home!
