Festival on Forbes

We can’t wait to see you all at the Festival on Forbes on Sunday 21 August! Here are the latest updates!

Calling for Volunteers

This is a shout-out to parents and carers who may be able to help in the day by volunteering in one of the following days:

  • Your Year group will need your help running the stall on the day, please contact your Class Parent for a link to the stall’s roster. Email your Class Parents if you can assist in any way or have any questions.
  • Merry People – we need hands for setting up and pulling down on Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon. The SCEGGS team work hard in the weeks leading up to the fair, but hands are needed on the day to help stall holders move into their area, with stall setup and then with tear down and bumping out. There are only a few hours after the Fair to have the classrooms ready for Monday morning classes.
  • Treasury Runners/EFTPOS Mentors – Volunteers are needed to assist with collecting cash from the stalls, counting and recording money received and EFTPOS machine support. Guidance for these procedures will be fully provided to all volunteers.

Cake Boxes

Cake boxes have been distributed to students, with some year groups to receive theirs early next week. And, as promised, here is a link to a recipe guide to inspire the baker in all of us!

Gourmet Pantry

The Gourmet Pantry Stall needs your help. We are looking for sweet and savoury jams, pickled produce, sauces, relishes, marinades, olives, lemon curd, cordial, salad dressings … the options are endless!

Jars and bottles to sell your contributions in will be available for collection from the General Office. Please email sceggsfof2022@gmail.com to specify how many jars/bottles you will need and what sizes (small, medium or large). We will notify you about the collection once your order is in.

Donations and Prizes

We are grateful for all the donations and prizes coming through – and there is plenty of room for more! These may be dropped off at anytime at the General Office, but don’t forget that every Friday we have our friendly volunteers stationed at the Forbes Street carpark from 7.45am – 8.45am.

Silent Auction

One of the major fundraisers for the Festival is the Silent Auction, and the P&F work hard with the wider community to obtain brilliant prizes.

Here is a preview of just some of our generous donations:

  2. Art Gallery of NSW – Private Curator Tour of Sydney Modern Project Building for 10 guests
  3. Kangaroo Valley – Luxury Two Night Stay
  4. Plus, more
    • A range of fine wines
    • Three night stay in Byron Bay
    • One week stay in Coromandel, New Zealand
    • Dinner at some of Sydney’s most recognised restaurants including Copperstone, Pompei’s, Ezra and Nomad
    • Work experience opportunities for students

Donations to the Silent Auction have an enormous impact on the Festival’s success and we value greatly the generosity of every donor who contributes to the auction.

The Festival on Forbes Committee would love to hear from you if you wish to donate or source prizes for the Auction. If you have any queries or ideas, please contact our Silent Auction Coordinator, Jenne Tsangaris   or Director of Development, Daisy Bahen.

Many thanks for your support.
