P&F Update
As we approach the half way point of Term 2, I thought it a good time to provide an update on what the P&F have been up to. As always, it’s a lot!
One of the highlights of this term was the 140th anniversary celebrations on 1 May. It was a day of wonderful events organised by the School, that saw many of the P&F executive joining in the celebrations including Felicity Clemens, our Vice President (and Old Girl) representing the P&F in the cake cutting ceremony.
Speaking of the 140th Year anniversary, the Gala Dinner is on Saturday 13 June and promises to be a glittering event! The ticket is all inclusive and you can book until Friday 29 May. It is sure to be a memorable evening so gather your friends and come along.
The latter part of last term saw the amazing Cardboard Challenge happen again in Junior School. This is a massive effort by the Junior School P&F and is always a great success. I had the pleasure of attending this year and saw first hand the fun had by all – especially me! You can read more about it here.
The P&F also provided Easter Morning Tea for the teachers and staff of both Junior School and Senior school. A small but heartfelt gesture of gratitude, that was appreciated and enjoyed by all.
This term, the Junior School has already had the Mother’s Day stall and the Mother’s Day Disco, great community building activities and of course great fun. The Mother’s Day Walk brought together the whole community: students, parents, staff and family members to support breast cancer research.
We had our inaugural Year 7 parent welcome event this year, hosted by the P&F, that saw a very good turn out and was much appreciated by the new parents. This event will be added to the P&F calendar going forward and a big thank you to the Year 7 ambassadors for organising the event.
The Parent Forum, also a P&F hosted event, was held earlier this term and was presented by the incredible Yasmin London. We had excellent attendance and the topic centred around online safety. The information and insights provided by Yasmin were enlightening and useful, and we had an extended Q&A that showed the level of engagement by parents.
The Second Hand Uniform shop continues to do well and provides parents with another option for top ups and back ups, that we all need!
I look forward to updating you again soon on the upcoming events and activities of the P&F and encourage you to get in touch if there is anything we can help you with or if you would like to be part of the P&F in the future.
