UOW Future Talk for Parents – Early Entry

Year 12 can be a stressful time for students and for the parents and carers supporting them. With big post-school decisions ahead, these sessions are designed to provide clarity, reassurance and practical advice to help you navigate the year with confidence.

Across the program, you’ll gain insights into:

  • Supporting students through the HSC and common challenges

  • Understanding UOW degrees, pathways and study options

  • How AI and emerging technologies are shaping degrees, careers and the future workforce

  • Navigating university applications, Early Admission and UAC

  • Financial planning for university, including scholarships, budgeting and accommodation

  • Accessing UOW support services for a smooth transition to university

  • Connecting with other parents and carers in a supportive environment

You’ll also receive regular emails with practical tips, resources and expert advice to help you and your young person feel informed, prepared and supported throughout Year 12 and beyond.

Sydney Design School Introduction to SketchUp Workshop

Looking to extend your presentation skills? Create detailed 3D models using this intuitive and easy-to-learn program.

Over 3 days you will be introduced to the fundamentals of SketchUp enabling you to create realistic floor plans and 3D models. You’ll use the 3D Warehouse, the world’s largest online library, to import furniture and lighting.

UOW EmpowerHER STEM Summit for Female Year 10 – 12 Students

The University of Wollongong is excited to bring back the EmpowerHER STEM Summit in 2026, a two-day, hands-on STEM experience designed exclusively for female students in years 10, 11 & 12.

Held during the Winter school holidays, this immersive event aims to raise the STEM-bar for girls and ignite their passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM)!

EmpowerHER STEM Summit is split across two action-packed days:

  • Day 1: Explore UOW’s vibrant Wollongong Campus and rotate through exciting STEM taster-sessions lead by UOW academics.

  • Day 2: Journey to Bluescope and experience local STEM in action. Meet current Bluescope cadets and learn first-hand what it means to be a working woman in STEM! End the day with a UOW STEM Clubs expo.

Students will at all times be accompanied by faculty, current students, and industry professionals to deliver an enriching and collaborative experience.

At Experience Day, you will receive a tour of our music campus and our dedicated performance space, the Tom Mann Theatre, followed by the chance to watch our Music Theatre Performance Class and attend a Music Theatre Workshop as our students prepare their end of trimester showcase. You are also invited to partake in Q&As with our faculty of Music Theatre professionals, our admissions team for information about auditions, and our student body for their perspective on life at AMPA.
