M is for Mary Day, See a Need and Do Something About It

M

Mary MacKillop believed in God’s providence, living a life as a model for others in their own faith journey. She longed to provide education for children who were in need and worked to provide them a better future. Mary was able to provide schooling for students from underprivileged communities through the works of the Sisters of St Joseph.

On Thursday 18th August, Mary Day, we encouraged students to “see a need and do something about it” and to dare to be like Mary. Students were provided with a quote and a ‘do something’ card. Throughout the day they reflected on their card and aimed to see needs in our community and do something about it.

We also celebrated Mary Day with a Bake sale. All funds will go to support MMCC students in the Need Support Fund (e.g Breakfast Club).
