Water Polo
Congratulations to our MLC01 Senior Firsts Team for a huge effort on Saturday. MLC School Sport would like to congratulate the team on creating a positive team spirit, working hard to get a goal and never giving up during the entire game. We are so proud of you!
A big shoutout to our MLC03 Year 7 Team who have won another game and took the win with a massive score of 20-4! You girls are all showcasing teamwork, determination, respect, and courage, and will be stepping up in Div Y702. Well done!
Rowing
It was a great start to the rowing season, with the entire rowing team competing at the Loreto Normanhurst Regatta over the weekend. For many of our junior rowers, it was their first time racing, and they embraced the challenge with enthusiasm. Every crew showed great effort throughout the day and represented MLC School with pride.
A special mention goes to Alannah Ng (Year 8), who had an outstanding regatta. Alannah won gold in the Schoolgirl Year 9 Single Scull before jumping straight back into a double with Maya McBrien (Year 10). The pair then went on to win gold in the Schoolgirl Double Scull over 2000 meters, capping off a fantastic day of racing.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who made the trip to Penrith to support the team. Your encouragement and support on race day are greatly appreciated and play a big role in making these opportunities possible for our students.
Badminton
MLC Badminton had some really tough games this past weekend. The teams had some really close match ups across the board with a couple of losses by a small margin. However, MLC02 shot their way to the top of the league in S02 after beating Kambala’s 1st team 5-0. MLC01 also beat Roseville 1st team in a very close 3-2 victory in S01, and a dominating performance for MLC09 winning 4-1.
Round 3 spreads our teams across 6 venues this weekend, with an exciting game for MLC10 who take on KRB03. We wish all teams the best of luck this weekend!
Triathlon
Over the weekend, Arielle McBrien (Year 7) competed at the Panthers Tri Club race and placed 2nd overall in the mixed division! Congratulations Arielle on your amazing achievement.
MLC School Sport is very proud to see the love of Triathlon expanding in Arielle’s horizons and cannot wait to see Arielle and the MLC School Triathlon Team compete next week at the NSW All Schools Triathlon Trials.
We would also like to wish Arielle best of luck as she approaches her Huskisson Triathlon this coming Sunday!
Basketball
Our IPSHA Basketball teams put on another impressive display of teamwork, courage and tenacity on the weekend. We are so proud of all our girls for getting out on the court and representing MLC School so graciously.
A massive congratulations once again to the Year 4 and Year 5 students in MLC04 who had their second win of the season, defeating Meriden 24-16.
Touch Football
We had a great day of Touch in Week 2. As a school, we carded 7 wins and 2 draws, these are great stats, and every student who represented can be super proud.
A big shoutout to MLC04, who played amazingly to beat PLC Croydon 2-1 in a close fought battle in the early morning. Coach Sam was unbelievably impressed with your skills, teamwork, and commitment, well done!
A small word from MLC03 after their 1-1 draw against Santa:
‘Our team put on a stellar performance against Santa Sabina, fighting hard until the final whistle for a solid 1-1 draw! Lucy Fickler was on fire, scoring a fantastic try to get us on the board. We almost had another one after Harriet Hatton and Grace Kuman teamed up for an awesome play that crossed the line, but it was unfortunately disallowed. Adelaide Akers had a great game out there, keeping the energy high and working hard the whole time. The best part? We finished super strong near the end of the game, showing massive improvement from last week.’ – Harriet Hatton (Year 11)
‘MLC 10’s Year 7 Touch team bounced back with a strong win over Santa Sabina on a hot Saturday afternoon. Great team cohesion and late individual tries from Victoria and Mikayla secured the result.
Defence proved decisive, with the middles working well throughout. Emily, Khay and Amara pushed up quickly to slow the attack, while Scarlett and Drew covered gaps in defence. Vivienne added spark in attack with darting runs from dummy half. A fantastic team effort!’
Volleyball
Volleyball picked up where they left off last week. Some great results, great plays, and smiles on every court! Our MLC School crew have been smashing it, coming up against some touch opposition and fighting valiantly for every point! Shoutout to MLC03 for picking up a three sets to nil victory against PLC Croydon. Keep going girls, you’re killing it!
Our Indoor teams played well once again. The standard of the competition is so high, and you’re all doing us unbelievably proud out there. Shoutout to MLC02, who picked up their first points of the season against Barker. We’re looking forward to watching the points rack up over the term!
