Parents of Year 11 HSC Students – Subject Change Requests for 2027

Parents of Year 11 HSC Students – Subject Change Requests for 2027

The introduction of Compass will change how subject change requests are processed.

In 2027, students will access these forms through Compass. In the interim, Subject Change Request forms will be available to students on Canvas.

Students must complete the form, specifying the subject they wish to discontinue and the new subject they wish to study. All fields must be completed and the form signed by a parent or carer before the request can be approved.

The completed form will be forwarded to the relevant departments for approval.

Before making any subject changes, please discuss the decision thoroughly with your daughter. Subject change requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. If a request is approved, the student must remain in their existing class until their timetable has been updated in Edval.

Students moving to a 10 unit pattern of study must speak with the Director of Studies, who may also contact parents or carers by telephone. A 10 unit pattern is generally not permitted if the tenth unit is an extension course. In exceptional cases, the Director of Studies and Head of Learning and Teaching may approve this arrangement after a thorough review.
