Year 9 Visual Arts Concertina Books – The Journey

Year 9 Visual Arts Concertina Books – The Journey

Year 9 Elective Visual Arts students have been working in concertina books to create mixed media artworks that explore the concept of a personal ‘journey’. These journeys may be based on real-life experiences or more imaginative and metaphysical explorations.

Through their artworks, students have investigated themes including culture, travel, mental health, friendship, fantasy, family relationships, and the passage of time.

They have experimented with a diverse range of materials and techniques, including watercolour, pencil, ink, collage and embroidery, to communicate their ideas in creative and meaningful ways. Each student has created a unique work to which can be seen in Kent House until the end of Week 5.
