Year 9

As the last few assessments are swept away and teachers conclude their term’s work with the girls, there has been a tangible sense of relief across the School campus this week. As the photos attest, the girls have enjoyed PDHPE lessons in the sun, and proudly displayed their completed solar powered cars in Design and Technology. It has been an utterly bonkers term, unlike any other, and I can only commend the girls for how they have rolled with the changes and handled the situation. This week we have had opportunities to unwind a little together, through the cupcake communion that the Reverends offered on Tuesday, or through low key Luminary time gatherings on Thursday. They have been timely reminders of the importance of the strength of our community which has served us so well in the last few months.

Our Middle Years Leaders extended their sense of community to some of our Junior School students on Monday. Jodhi Bou (Year 5) and Sophia Antipas (Year 5), Captain and Vice-Captain in the Junior School, joined our team to discuss leadership, both the opportunities and challenges that this provides. I know that our Year 9 girls loved talking to the younger girls and sharing ideas with them. A massive thank you to Ariana Haghighi, our School Vice-Captain (Year 6 to Year 9), who helped organise this and who guides the girls so well.

I hope your daughters take ample time to unwind and switch off from School over the break. It will be a quieter break than some of us may have planned, with no overseas travel possible, and hopefully the girls can rest up, get plenty fresh air and enjoy the gorgeous winter weather that Sydney usually has on offer. I look forward to seeing Year 9 back, revitalised, for Term 3.
