Year 12

Year 12 girls have certainly met a few milestones this term and all with the uncertainty that COVID-19 brought with it. I am extremely proud of the girls for forging ahead and continuing to devote time and effort into their academics along with their wellbeing.

During Luminary this week, we have spent some time on a Year 12 Statement of Service, which operates as an informal reference from the School. Formal references required by universities still continue to be managed by our Careers Department. Our last Elevate study session was also allocated this week, which focused on planning for a holiday study break. Some ideas around this were to create a routine using the school day as a guide and to have the evenings off. The Careers Department also spoke to the girls on Thursday during Luminary regarding application to universities.

This week during the individual Year 12 Wellbeing meetings with Neil Scotney, Head of Senior School and myself, I have become aware of how so many of the cohort have matured and become very aware of their own limits and have made adjustments in their days to enable them to have more productive study sessions and better quality sleep.

I do hope the girls have a really productive break but that they also have appropriate rest times as well. To get the most out of their study, they will need to have some reward and time away from thinking about the challenges that Term 3 will bring.

If you have any concerns please don’t hesitate to email me or phone 8741 3278.
