Rest, Recharge and READ

This week the Library Monitors, in collaboration with girls from across the Junior School, release their first edition of the Junior Journal. This much anticipated COVID-19 edition will be sent to all girls and families through Seesaw on Friday afternoon. It contains interviews, a short story, poetry and recounts of student experiences throughout the term. There are also book reviews, puzzles and activities. The girls have written and illustrated the entire edition and should be most proud of their achievement.

This holiday, take the time to rest, recharge and READ. This will be a good time to remember to log books read on the Premier’s Reading Challenge. For those after a creative challenge, the Children’s Book Council of Australia have initiated the Book Trailer Competition. For those from Year 3 to Year 6 who would like to compete, and you are encouraged to do so. Those girls looking for inspiration for their trailers, look no further than the Junior School library guide for some how-to videos and examples of book trailers.

Have a wonderful holiday.
