Year 8

The countdown until the end of term has been echoing around school this week. I’m sure Year 8 are no exception and are also looking forward to a well deserved three weeks of rest. In our haste to take a break from the hectic – albeit rewarding – life of school, it’s tempting to hurtle into the holidays without daring to look back at the term that has passed.

Please encourage your daughters to reflect on Term 2 – the what went wells and the even better ifs. The capacity to reflect and self-manage is as important as the knowledge they acquire or the assessment results they achieve. Reflection and self-management are valued in any workplace and can contribute to our wellbeing more broadly. So we hope that before the girls wipe the slate clean in preparation for next term, they take some time to look back on Term 2 with a critical – but not too critical – eye.

Enjoy the break if you are taking one with your daughters. I look forward to seeing them back next term, refreshed and ready to complete their final term of Year 8.
