Titration Report

This year the Royal Australian Chemical Institute did not hold the New South Wales Schools Titration Competition, but due to student interest, we held our own competition at Fort Street.

The competition involves working out an unknown acid concentration using analytical laboratory techniques.

Twenty five teams made up of Year 12 and 11 Chemistry students, participated in the competition. The Year 11 teams did extremely well, surprising some of the Year 12 teams.

The students in the teams that were awarded:

1st place: Year 11: Charlize D, Pranaya P and Celina W

2nd place: Year 12: Samantha C, Nicholas N and Chris Z and

3rd place: Year 11: Kai C, Lucas C and Sean C

Finally, I would like to thank all the students that gave up their lunch time for their participation and preparation for the competition, and Ms Nguyen for her time and help.
