Fort Street Mural

Fort Street has welcomed a new mural.

Visual Arts teacher, Ms Capel, made contact with artist Phillip Orcher last year, who ran workshops with the 2025 cohort of Year 7s. Phillip is a new emerging contemporary Aboriginal artist from Goodooga Central West NSW. He draws inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of the Murrawarri and Gumbaynggirr nations of NSW which he represents.

The workshops aimed at capturing the students’ connections to place at school and taught them the expansive nature of Aboriginal art. The works they conceived with the artist were turned into a mural which is now visible at the Wilkins steps beside the lift.
