St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal

The Mercy Girls in Action have been working hard to support the St Vincent de Paul Winter appeal. Over the past six weeks the College came together and donated toiletry items for those in need. All pastoral care groups did a fantastic job in donating many items. A big thank you to Tracey Firth who hand made toiletry bags. The items will be packed by the Mercy Girls in Action and donated to St Vincent de Paul this week.

Lunchtime Knitting

Tamarra Woods and Erin Chin introduced a new social justice project to ensure members could learn a new skill and help out this winter season. The new initiative for the Vinnies Winter Appeal included the girls knitting squares to sew into large house blankets. We were overwhelmed with the amount of generosity and enthusiasm girls brought to the sessions. Many did not know how to knit and it was wonderful to see students and Mrs Costopoulos teaching others. The skill of learning to knit has brought our community together and developed our patience. The house blankets are slowly coming together and we encourage the students to continue knitting the squares over the holiday break. A big congratulations to all the Mercy Girls in Action this term and the consistent hard work throughout they have shown to help people in need.
