Nepal – Year 10

Nepal – Year 10

The Oxley College Service Learning vision is for our students to support local, national and international communities and make a difference to the lives of others. One of these opportunities is the Year 10 Service Learning trip to Jhib Jhibe in Nepal.

This by no means will be a ‘fly in-fly out’ experience. Instead, we will be studying the small community of Jhib Jhibe in advance. By the time students set foot in Jhib Jhibe (50km North of Kathmandu in the beautiful Himalayan foothills) they will be very familiar with the people and the region.

During the trip time will be spent working in the high school and the primary school. Students will also experience an amazing trek into the foot hills of the Himalaya surrounded by some of the world’s highest mountains. The trek is also an opportunity to get to know the Nepalese trek team and hosts in Jhib Jhibe, as well as experience the life of people in this remarkable landscape.

The cost of this trip is approximately $6500.

Dates: Saturday 5 October 2024 to Saturday 19 October 2024
